Dartford boss Tony Burman knows his team have to be mentally ready for the challenge ahead.

His side’s next three games are against clubs fighting off the threat of relegation in National League South.

And that, he believes, is a tougher challenge than coming up against those at the top.

Burman said: “These can be difficult games and if you haven’t got your mind right, you can get punished. They are more difficult than playing the teams around you.

“We have had a scare in the games against Oxford City (14th) and Welling (16th). We drew those games and at any other time of the season, those two results would be decent but people start to get a bit anxious at this time of the year."

They visit Concord, managed by former Darts defender Adam Flanagan, this Saturday with their hosts are in need of a few more points to assure their safety.

Burman has no fresh injuries from the weekend. Danny Harris was on the bench against Bath but was carrying an ankle injury which should have improved.

Winger Ryan Hayes had a hand in both goals against Bath, winning a penalty and delivering a cross for the second, but he would love one more himself with 99 to his name.

Burman said: “On Saturday the keeper pulled off a great save against him. It will happen and I am sure he will get that 100th goal in the coming weeks.

“He will be delighted when it happens and so will we.”
