Goalkeeper Alhaji Sesay is improving with every match he plays, according to Dartford manager Steve King.

Sesay, who has previously been at Bristol City, kept his second successive clean sheet in Dartford’s 3-0 win over Tonbridge in their National League South encounter.

Dartford dominated in the first period but only led 1-0 at the break, with Darren McQueen on target.

King said: “I did say to them (the players) at half-time that 1-0 is one of the worst score lines.

“Their manager is going to go mental at them and they are going to raise their game, and they did raise their game for 10 or 15 minutes, as they got back into the game without really hurting us.

“I thought AJ (Sesay) was outstanding in his handling and he is growing.

“He is getting better slowly, in my opinion.

“His kicking was much better. We have brought somebody in who is working closely with him, but overall, I thought it was a thorough, professional, performance and 3-0 was about right.”

Second-half strikes from Elliott Romain and substitute Charlie Sheringham sealed the win for the Darts, who had defender Josh Hill sent off in the final stages, as they moved up to 10th.

“I thought we did really, really well, especially in the first half," King added, reflecting on the victory.

"That’s as dominant as we have been and we should have gone in 2-0 or 3-0 up at least. But we didn’t capitalise on all our good play and, at that time, then you leave yourself open.

"They had a chance in the 45th minute where our keeper has made a decent save, down low.

"But for me, we were so dominant that the game should have been over at half-time."

Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong was also praised by King, having made his debut for the side from the start after Dartford had announced the loan signing of the 22-year-old midfielder from Aldershot shortly before kick-off.

"You can see little bits of quality, (with his) finesse on the ball and the way he manipulates the ball," said King.

"I thought he ticked along nicely.

"Bearing in mind he has been out for two weeks at Aldershot with concussion, so he hasn’t played for three weeks and he’s coming into a league where it’s a little bit quicker than the National League - it’s up, down, up, down - he’s another who will grow.

"But he brings little bits of quality and left-footed (players) always bring a bit of balance."
