Loan signing Liam Gordon is enjoying life under Dartford boss Steve King again.

Gordon found himself down the pecking order at National League Dagenham so he jumped at the chance to get regular football at Princes Park.

It also means he is back working for King, having played under him during a loan spell at Whitehawk.

“I’m enjoying it and the main thing is I’m playing football,” said Gordon. “I played under Kingy before and he is a great manager.

“I like working with him and he has a lot of faith in me so I enjoy it. The main thing is that he gives me a massive confidence boost.

“He knows how I am, he says to get forward as much as you can and your recovery run will come into that. That’s what I tend to do.

“There’s nothing new to me coming into this set-up. I have to train well and my football ability will do the talking.”

The 20-year-old left-back extended his loan with the Darts until early January last week.

Gordon made 34 appearances for Dagenham last season but was restricted to just five starts and two substitute outings before linking up with King again at the start of November.

“At the moment Dagenham have got another left-back so I’d rather be playing somewhere else and then we’ll see what happens,” he added.

“I haven’t thought about what will happen in January yet, I’ll see what happens at Dagenham and keep playing football.

“The boys are a great bunch of lads. I’ve played in this league before so I knew what to expect.

“There’s not a great deal of difference to the National League, a lot of the players at this level have come down from the National League or League 2 so the tempo is always going to be high. I knew that once I came here.”

Gordon’s eye-catching runs can quickly turn defence into attack – although he is keen to improve his end product and even hopes to grab a goal or two before his loan spell ends.

“I know a goal has to come soon – everyone has been saying it!,” he said. “I’ve just got to keep on working on my end product. I know I can get forward but that’s the main thing I can work on.”
