Joint-boss Adam Flanagan was pleased with Dartford's level of performance against Ebbsfleet.

Josh Hill headed the Darts in front at Princes Park, where Tuesday's pre-season friendly finished 1-1.

Dartford dominated the first half and could have scored more than once before the interval.

"I thought it was a good game," Flanagan said. "We looked quite bright.

"In the first half we had 10 efforts at goal with 50% of those on target, eight good crosses into effective areas and the goal came from one of those, a good set piece and Josh scored a great header.

"I thought we were very good. I was impressed with the tempo of the team and the energy the players put in.

"We wanted to give the academy players some minutes towards the end and there's players we brought off that we need to manage their match minutes and maybe that made us a little bit lighter than we were but I'm very pleased."

Flanagan praised the condition of his players up against National League opposition.

He said: "I know Ebbsfleet haven't got the strength in depth but they still put out a strong XI full of seasoned players.

"They might not have all been full-time but a lot of those players have played higher up the pyramid and we're still two nights a week.

"We've trained for the best part of four hours in the weeks we've been back as opposed to Ebbsfleet, who probably did that in a day!

"With regard to gelling, we've got a bit to do and I'm sure Garry (Hill) has got a bit to do with them but there were a lot of positives.

"The new players really did showcase their attributes well."
