Darts boss Tony Burman is happy to rotate his squad in a bid to keep everyone fresh for an expected play-off challenge.

Burman handed starts to Lee Noble, Danny Harris and Alfie Pavey last weekend in the 2-2 draw at Hemel Hempstead.

He said: “I am trying to give people starts so we are geared up for the end of the month. I need to get people minutes under their belts and I wanted to change a few things from last week.

“We did that and we did all right. A win would have been better but it wasn’t to be.

“You have got to start people who haven’t been playing. I need to do that and it’s why I let some of the younger guys to go out on loan so they can get games. You try and cover all of the situations.

“We just need to keep everyone up with their minutes.”

Ronnie Vint missed out last weekend due to concussion but is expected back in the squad for the home game against Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.

Andy Pugh was back after a gluteal muscle strain and played most of the game before being substituted.

Burman will be assessing Keaton Wood this week in training after the defender picked up a knock in the game at Hemel.

Last week the Darts faced a Hemel side with only pride to play for and it will be the same again this weekend.

Burman said: “Eastbourne had a good result on Saturday (beating Wealdstone 5-1) and they won’t be under any pressure.

“We have got to get back to winning ways but it won’t be easy. They have been a little hit-and-miss and they’ve scored lots of goals in some games. On their day they are a decent side.”
