Dartford boss Steve King watched Ade Azeez fire home a hat-trick on Saturday - and then insisted there's more to come.

Azeez took his tally for the campaign to seven for the season since joining Darts in the close season from Dover.

His treble helped Dartford defeat Hythe 5-1 in the second qualifying round at Princes Park.

"I'm pleased that he scored a hat-trick," said King. "He's scored the goals but there's more to come, there's so much more he can do.

"I'm happy for him, he is such a joy to work with, he listens and is never a problem. But I still think there is more to come from him. If you speak to him he'll say that too.

"I feel he could run in behind people a little bit more and be more of a handful to the centre-halves. He wins most of his headers and gets flicks but I think he could be more ruthless.

"He's started well but he'll probably say he could have had another three or four goals this season. I'm not complaining, all the players have been fantastic, but we keep asking can we improve here or there."

While pleased to progress against Hythe, there were areas of Dartford's game that King felt were sloppy on the day.

With only two clean sheets to their name so far this term, King wants his side to improve defensively despite having the tightest defence in National League South.

"There were times when we were very good and had spells where we were clinical in certain situations," said the Darts manager. "I felt we could go up gears anytime and that showed with the fifth goal.

"I wanted a clean sheet because we've only had two this year, they are a cornerstone of what we did previously.

"I know it sounds greedy when we've conceded the least in the division but I know that we're better than what we're showing at certain times in games. That one is itching on me because I know we're better than that."
