There were no last-minute deals at Dartford on transfer deadline day but manager Tony Burman will resume negotiations when the loan window opens next Monday.

Burman had been hoping to make some permanent signings before the 11pm deadline but time ran out with the Darts boss unable to add to his squad.

However, registration rules mean no new players would have been eligible for Dartford's FA Trophy replay at FC Halifax, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday night

Burman said: "I haven’t managed to bring anybody in.

"I spoke to a couple of guys and I was looking more to try to get someone on a permanent deal rather than on loan. But once the window opens again next week, I might be able to do something then.

"They didn’t go elsewhere, the people we were looking at. They’re still at their clubs but we’ve not been able to pull things off before the deadline. The window opens again next Monday.

We were working to bring people in but I did three in the window anyway (Nathan Green, Christian Doidge and Jamie Richards). I did it quite early and I wanted to add one or two more.

"But I couldn’t have played them this week anyway. I am confident of bringing people in."

Among the players still available to sign on permanent deals are those without a club after being released during the window.

Former Dartford winger Dave Martin falls into that bracket after Luton terminated his contract on Monday night.

So could he be on his way back to Princes Park?

"I wouldn’t rule anything out," Burman said. "I didn’t know Dave was going to be released from his contract.

"There were a few done at the last minute yesterday. People are out there, free agents, and we’re keeping our options open. I wanted to bring someone in on a permanent basis but it hasn’t happened.

"After next Monday, it opens up again and I can talk to players regarding loan deals."
