Promotion-chasing Dartford hoping pivotal players will be available for trip to Gloucester City

Several key men could return for Dartford at Gloucester City on Saturday.

Midfielder Lee Noble missed the win over Truro last weekend while defender Ronnie Vint and striker Duane Ofori-Acheampong only made the bench.

But all three could be in contention for a start when the National League South leaders head west.

Assistant boss Paul Sawyer said: “Nobes pulled up in training last Monday with a calf strain. We could have risked him on Saturday but we didn’t think it was worth it.

“We’ve given him an extra week and he should be fit.

“Duane was on the bench but he’s got a tight hamstring which he picked up last week. He trained OK on Thursday but he was a little bit tight after training, so we didn’t want to use him unless we had to.”

One player who remains sidelined is defender Richard Sho-Silva.

Sawyer said: “Richard picked up a knee injury when he was playing for VCD so we’re waiting for scan results.

“We’re hoping it’s not going to be too long but I think Nathan Collier’s been great (at centre-half) the last couple of weeks. It gives us a chance to get Ronnie back to full fitness.

“He’s had flu. He trained on (last) Thursday night but was coughing and spluttering afterwards.

“Nathan played centre-half most of the time he was at Hampton.”

Darts beat Gloucester 4-1 in November but Sawyer warned: “They’ve been on a good run recently and it’ll be a tough game.

“Every game seems to be tough this year in this league, anybody’s capable on their day of beating each other.”
