Dartford have an immediate chance to right the wrong of Boxing Day when they resume their Vanarama Conference survival bid with a trip to fellow strugglers Alfreton on Sunday.

Both clubs have 23 points and will be in the relegation zone at the start of 2015.

But the Darts - who have a game in hand over Alfreton - could move to within a point of safety with a win at North Street.

The trip to Derbyshire comes just 48 hours after Dartford were beaten 2-0 at home by Braintree and manager Tony Burman knows he must lift his players quickly.

"It is a big task," he said. "There’s no time for them to feel sorry for themselves.

"Seven days ago, they’ve done ever so well (by winning 3-1 at Wrexham). It was a good performance – no credit for the performance – but it was a good performance.

"We’ve got to lift ourselves in the space of 48 hours and we have to go again.

"We have to try to recreate the performance at Wrexham and hopefully we can do that."

Jason Brown received lengthy treatment for a back injury during the Braintree clash and although he completed the 90 minutes, the goalkeeper is a doubt for Sunday.
