Striker Adam Coombes scored twice and set up the other goal as Welling claimed a welcome win on Saturday.
It was only their second home National League South success of the season and it means back to back wins since Jamie Day took over as manager.
Although Bath levelled early in the second half, Welling were always on top with a much-improved defensive base the basis for their attacking play.
Welling had the perfect start. Matt Fish's cross was nodded down by George Oakley and Adam Coombes' excellent finish made it 1-0 inside six minutes.
Bath had lost skipper Dan Ball to injury by then but his replacement, Sekani Simpson, proved an able deputy.
As an attacking force, Bath were virtually non-existent in the first half. It was Welling that enjoyed plenty of play although clear-cut chances did not come easily.
There was certainly an improved desire and work-rate from the side in what was Day’s first home game back in charge of the club.
They almost claimed a second goal five minutes before half-time. Substitute Christian Nanetti forced an error in defence and Coombes' snapshot was saved by the legs of Max O'Leary.
Welling were served a warning on the stroke of half-time when Andy Watkins' header hit the base of the post for Bath.
And it took the visitors just three minutes after the break to level. Welling never cleared their lines after keeper Harry Girling's clearance put them in trouble and a left-wing corner was headed in by Tyler Harvey.
Welling responded in positive fashion, however. The lively Harry Crawford had a low shot saved and Sam Hatton went close from distance after a neat build-up.
The Wings restored their lead midway through the second half. Nanetti was fouled in the area by Frankie Artus and Coombes added his second from the penalty spot.
Bath made a double substitution but rather than sit back Welling continued to go forward and it was 3-1 on 77 minutes.
Coombes turned provider as he laid the ball back for Crawford, who drilled low into the bottom corner.
Welling then ran the clock down well and never looked like giving up the three points.
