Welling maintained their perfect record over Lincoln with victory at Park View Road on Tuesday.

The Wings have now won all five league games against Lincoln since winning promotion back to the top flight of non-league football.

The game was settled by substitute Afolabi Obafemi when he fired in with five minutes left.

Welling started brightly but Lincoln soon got on top with their strong, physical approach forcing the home side back. Former Wings defender Chris Bush provided long throws while the hosts had to survive five corners inside the first 25 visitors.

Welling's Nortei Nortey had to head clear Luke Waterfall's header before Lincoln's leading scorer Matt Rhead nodded wide when well placed.

It needed a great reflex stop from Welling keeper Tom King seven minutes before half-time to keep the scores level as he denied Hearn.

Welling took the lead against the run of play on 42 minutes. They kept the pressure on when Lincoln couldn't clear a corner and Ricky Wellard's excellent chip was turned in at the second attempt by Sam Corne from close range.

All that good work was wasted three minutes into the second half when Lincoln levelled. Welling gave the ball away cheaply inside their own half and Alan Power's wayward shot was turned in by the grateful Hearn.

It was all Lincoln again thereafter. Hearn had his shot beaten away and Bush fired high and wide before the hosts slowly clawed themselves back into the contest.

Welling had the ball in the net midway through the half but Wellard was flagged offside.

Lincoln had to play the final seven minutes with 10 men as Bradley Wood rightly collected a second yellow card from referee Adam Bromley for a late challenge on Harry Lee.

But they could only hold out for two minutes as Reece Harris intercepted a wayward pass and substitute Obafemi slid his shot under the body of keeper Paul Farman.
