Tony Burman praised his side's set-pieces after their dramatic late win on Saturday.
Dartford scored from corners in the 88th and 94th minutes to beat Weston-super-Mare 2-1 at Princes Park.
They trailed 1-0 but Danny Harris converted a Ryan Hayes delivery to equalise before Lee Noble's cross went in off Weston defender Clayton Fortune for the winner.
Burman said: "We’ve said about the importance of the restarts, set-pieces, it’s something we’ve been strong at for most of the season and it’s paid off in the end.
"With the restarts, whatever you want to call them, set-pieces, we’ve worked hard on them. We had some clear headers on set-pieces in the second half but not hit the target.
"Haysie’s come on and put a great ball in and so has Nobes put a great ball in - and it’s gone in.
"I believed we could get back into the game, even though we went 1-0 down. It showed good character to do that especially after the two chances that we missed prior to getting the goal back."
Weston played some attractive football at Princes Park but they're propping up Vanarama National League South with just four points from eight games.
Burman said: "They’re a good footballing side but they’re near the bottom of the league.
"People have got to realise what level we’re playing at. As much as you want to play lovely football, at the end of the day, you have to get a result.
"They’ll cause people problems and they’ll have a lot of possession but I feel for them because they’re trying to play football possibly in the right way but you have to sometimes realise that the level is where we are.
"It was an awkward situation because they keep the ball very well and you can be running about a lot when players play like that against you. But we stuck to our guns and we got a result.
"We said that we’d have to be patient because we didn’t think we’d have too much of the ball - we’d have to go and win it back. I felt we did in the first 10 minutes and we just needed that little bit of quality in the final third, which wasn’t quite there.
"They broke on us, they put a lot of people into the middle of the park and they don’t play a lot of people wide.
"We knew we weren’t going to have much of the ball but we still carried on and this time we’ve got away with something.
"It’s nice for that to happen for everyone involved with the club. It’s how we used to be at home, where we ended up making something happen."
What Dartford "got away with" was a mistake by Ronnie Vint which led to Weston's goal. Vint was made to pay for losing possession just outside his own penalty area on 80 minutes.
Burman said: "Their concentration levels have got to be for 90 minutes. We’ve been punished in recent games for someone making an individual mistake.
"Ronnie was punished and it’s nothing to do with the organisation, it’s just an individual mistake.
"That’s happened to us in the last few games but the team managed to win the game and that’s what it’s about."
