Dartford travel to leaders Bath on Saturday with manager Tony Burman confident they are making progress.
Sitting 10th in Vanarama National League South with 10 points from their first seven games, Darts have made a mixed start to life back at Step 2.
But two good performances over the Bank Holiday weekend have given Burman plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
Dartford were good value for their 2-0 win at Margate on Saturday and perhaps unfortunate to go down 1-0 at home to Ebbsfleet on Monday.
"It was better than two draws," Burman said. "I felt we were excellent at Margate and there was a bit of pressure there because the last home game we’d lost against Gosport.
"I’m disappointed that we haven’t got more points but I’m not disappointed with the way the players have reacted and the way they’re trying to play and get points.
"I feel like we’re definitely going in the right direction."
Bath lost their 100% record on Monday when they were held 1-1 by struggling Weston-super-Mare, although they remain two points clear of Ebbsfleet at the top.
Burman said: "It’s a tough game. There’s a bit of distance involved for it, which is what we’ve been used to over the last three years.
"We’ll get together again on Thursday night, we’ll look forward to it and hopefully we can get something."
Darts could welcome back Barry Cogan (chest) and Andy Pugh (groin) for the 300-mile round-trip.
