Charlton are close to completing the signing of Blue Square Premier top-scorer Stuart Fleetwood.
The 22-year-old former Cardiff and Hereford striker, now with Forest Green, has intimated that he expects to join the Addicks this week in a £100,000 deal.
Forest Green manager Jim Harvey admitted: “The deal with Charlton looks done and dusted.”
Should Fleetwood sign for the Addicks, it will leave manager Alan Pardew with a wealth of riches in the striking department after Svetoslav Todorov signed a one-year deal after missing most of last season through seriously damaged knee ligaments
Meanwhile, Marcus Bent has returned from a season-long loan at Premier League Wigan, who have shown no inclination to sign him. Also back at The Valley is midfielder Amdy Faye who spent much of last season on loan at Glasgow Rangers.
Faye, signed by former Addicks boss Iain Dowie, is the club’s highest paid player.
Central defender Madjid Bougherra could be leaving the club to join Glasgow Rangers who have made known their interest.
