Dartford are gearing up for a festive run of fixtures which arguably represents their biggest week of the season so far.
On Boxing Day, the Darts are at home to a Braintree side just four places above them in the Vanarama Conference. Then follows a trip to Alfreton – immediately below Dartford in the relegation zone – and the return fixture at Braintree on New Year’s Day.
Factor in the visit of Kidderminster to Princes Park on January 4 and these four games in 10 days could go a long way to determining how the rest of Dartford’s season shapes up.
"All the games are important," said manager Tony Burman. "It’s going to be a test of character for all non-league clubs with so many games in a short space of time. If things go right, you can pick up points but if things go wrong, you don’t.
"It’s a testing time but we’re in a better place at the moment. There’s now four games in the next week or so.
"It’s nice to be approaching the Boxing Day game with a much better result behind us."
That result was a 3-1 win at Wrexham on Saturday which kept the Darts in touch with the sides just above the drop zone.
Burman said: "It’s brilliant for morale. There’s been a lot of negativity around the place because results haven’t gone our way.
"I still think I’ve got a decent group but I haven’t brought the best out of them. There’s a lot to come from them, given time. They showed that on Saturday."
Harry Crawford (groin) played 60 minutes at Wrexham and the striker came through unscathed, although defender Callum Driver was forced off with a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, striker Andy Pugh (groin) is set to start training again next week.
