Classy grammar girls dominate netball league

STUDENTS at Dartford Grammar School for Girls are celebrating an unprecedented clean sweep of the Years 7 to 11 Dartford & District netball titles.

In addition, Year 7 and Year 9 sides also won the Dartford & District league titles.

Year 7’s A team were unbeaten in the league and also won the tournament by beating Swan Valley 5-2 in the final.

They also did well at the Kent County Championships, winning bronze medals.

Year 8 won five and drew one of their six games to win the Dartford & District tournament and they also took second place in the Fair Play award.

Year 9 won the Dartford & District league and tournament double, edging Gravesend Girls Grammar into second place in the former and beating the same school in the final of the latter.

The Year 10 and 11 teams both had 100 per cent records at the Dartford & District tournament to complete the clean sweep.

Carla Coxall, head of PE at Dartford Grammar, said: "I am thrilled by the achievements of the netball teams. The girls have excelled themselves and made the school very proud."
