Kent Tigers Basketball Club are set to relaunch at The Leigh Academy in Dartford this January.
The club’s relaunch is not just a return to the court - it also represents a significant expansion of Kent Tigers’ youth development programme, aiming to foster an elite basketball Academy in Dartford and the surrounding areas.
Their relaunch will take place at The Leigh Academy on Green Street Green Road, where sessions for children as young as three, in partnership with Little Hoopers, will be introduced.
It extends to senior men’s and women’s teams, and offers opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to develop.
General manager Sten Mayunga said: “We’re incredibly excited to relaunch Kent Tigers and especially our new youth development sessions.
“Our goal is to cultivate an elite basketball Academy that nurtures young talent right here in Dartford.
“This initiative is more than basketball - it’s about enriching our community and offering a platform for the youth to excel, both on and off the court.”
As the reigning Division 1 and Division 2 champions in the local senior men’s league and under-14 and under-16 Youth League champions in the 2022/23 season, Kent Tigers have a history of success.
Awarded the Basketball England South East Community Club-of-the-Year award in 2022, the club’s involvement with local schools and partnerships showcases their commitment to community development.
