Jamie Coyle has been named Welling's fourth manager in less than a year.
The former Maidstone player/coach rejoins the Wings as player/manager.
He takes over from Alex Dyer, who failed to agree terms with Welling owner Mark Goldberg at the end of the season having previously indicated that he wanted the role on a long-term basis.
Goldberg and Jamie Day were also in charge at various stages at Park View Road last season when a disappointing campaign saw Welling spend the majority of the season in and around the relegation zone.
Coyle previously played for Welling in the 2010/11 season under Day, making 35 appearances and scoring one goal.
He joined the Wings in 2010 from Dartford before leaving to link up with Sittingbourne, where he also took on a coaching role for the first time. He joins the Wings having left Maidstone, where he spent three seasons at the Gallagher Stadium.
Coyle will be joined at Park View Road by former Welling midfielder Jack Parkinson, who has agreed a player/coach role.
Parkinson was a free agent after leaving Dover. He spent the latter stages of last season on loan at Maidenhead, helping them win the National League South title.
A statement on Welling's website said: "Mark Goldberg said that he is delighted to have reached agreement with all concerned to form this management team, which he is confident contains the abilty and experience to serve the Club well over the forthcoming season."
