A dad left with serious head injuries after two horses ran into his car has been told he faces a 12-month recovery period.
The 37-year-old was travelling along Chapel Wood Road, New Ash Green, at 7.15am on January 5.
The horses, which it is claimed had been loose for several hours, ran into the path of his Vauxhall Corsa and came though the windscreen.
Both animals died at the scene with one of them ending up under the car and the other, partially inside the vehicle.
The injured man's wife, who asked that the family remain anonymous, said he suffered fractures to his skull and shoulder.
He was airlifted to hospital where he was also treated for facial injuries, including a broken eye socket.
He is now recovering at home, with doctors saying it will be at least a year before he physically recovers.
In a previous article, it was incorrectly stated that the horses had died after the man had driven into them. This was not the case and we apologise for any upset this caused. We're happy to clarify this matter.
