Six straight wins have established Dartfordians Rugby Club as serious contenders for automatic promotion this season.
Darts are two points clear at the top of London 2 South East after a near-perfect first quarter of the campaign.
They’ve already beaten Barking, Beckenham, Pulborough, Charlton Park, Horsham and Heathfield & Waldron, picking up three bonus points along the way.
Dartfordians chairman Jarrod Lawrence said: "It’s fantastic. At the start of the season our goal was to finish top and at the moment, we’re following through.
"We finished third in each of the last two seasons so clearly we’re looking to push on and move up to London 1 South."
Stability has been key to Dartfordians’ steady progress.
Mr Lawrence said: "We’re still a young side but they’ve been playing together for three or four years now. They’re progressing and understanding what they need to do to win.
"Our defence is strong and we’re clinical when we have the ability to score.
"It’s a maturation across the three or four years they’ve been playing together and having a focus on making sure they get the goal they and the club want to achieve.
"We’ve had one or two additional players come in from the junior club that have added to the quality of the side."
Across the board, Dartfordians are in good health.
Mr Lawrence said: "We’re running five men’s teams on a Saturday, we’ve got 100 girls in our 13s, 15s and 18s sides, we’ve got roughly 450 kids from under-6 to under-18 and the social side is going well, too.
"It’s all working well with great volunteers underpinning all the efforts."
