Elliot Bradbrook is closing in on a century of goals for Dartford after scoring two more on Saturday.

The captain's double earned Darts a 2-2 draw with Oxford City and took his tally for the season to 17 - his best haul since 2011/12 when he scored 19.

Bradbrook has now found the net 93 times in 313 appearances for Dartford.

Darts boss Tony Burman said: "In all fairness, the other part of his game wasn’t brilliant.

"He lost the ball for the first goal. Elliot’s all-round game wasn’t great but he keeps going, he wants to make something happen. He did by arriving in the box to get the first goal.

"It’s the same with Ryan Hayes. For all his poor crosses, he’s the one putting in the crosses in the first place. Out of five, if he’s put three bad ones in but two good ones, we’ve been able to get back into the game."

Bradbrook and Hayes are among the senior players at Dartford who continue to set an example to others.

Burman said: "This is a big experience for the younger players.

"Look at Ronnie Vint, he’s 19 and he’s been absolutely outstanding this season.

"He’s had mistakes, he’s learnt from them and I think he can be disappointed that he’s not in the supporters’ top-three of votes for player-of-the-year.

"Make no mistake, for a 19-year-old, he’s been excellent.

"We started the season wanting to progress some of our younger players and that is a major plus this year.

"We’ve bedded some younger players in with experienced players and I’ve got to say the experienced players have been brilliant with the younger lads. You need those experienced players - you can’t just go young.

"There were a lot of people around who thought we were going to be middle of the table or near the bottom. In a quiet sort of way, we’ve proved them wrong."
