Dartford manager Tony Burman admits new signing Danny Barber may never kick a ball for the club.

Barber made his debut for the Darts on Saturday, after signing from Boreham Wood, but within minutes he was being stretchered off with a twisted knee - before he had even touched the ball.

A scan later today (Monday) will reveal the extent of the injury and Burman knows if it’s as bad as first feared the left-back could be out for 18 months.

“It doesn’t look good and I’m hoping it’s not a cruciate injury,” said Burman.

“He’s never been injured before and he didn’t even touch the ball but he’s been carried off on a stretcher after the first minute. It’s really a choker for the lad.

“It would be a terrible injury to get and I’m hoping it’s not. I’m just hoping he can kick a ball for this club.”
