Jason Prior has signed a one-year contract at Dartford.
The striker featured for the Darts in their first two pre-season friendlies and he has now agreed a permanent return to the club where he spent a month on loan last season.
Prior was loaned out by AFC Wimbledon in March and he made eight appearances for Tony Burman's side, scoring twice.
Wimbledon released the 24-year-old at the end of the season and Burman offered Prior a contract last week.
The former Bognor Regis Town front man, who was offered a trial by Newcastle United at the start of 2012, was considering offers closer to his Portsmouth home.
But Prior will line up in a Dartford shirt when Burman's side begin their second season in Conference Premier on August 10.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jon Wallis has been released from his contract due to family and work commitments.
A statement on the club website said: "Tony would like to thank Jon for all his work, he has been a true professional and Tony is very disappointed he has had to make the decision to go."
