DARTFORD manager Tony Burman has sharpened his attack with the signing of experienced Margate striker Rob Haworth.
The 32-year-old former Fulham professional moved to Princes Park after Dartford snatched him from under the noses of Wealdstone, who expected him to sign for them – and even announced the deal had been completed last week.
Haworth has previously played locally for Gravesend & Northfleet. He scored six goals in 21 games for the Fleet, having joined in September 2003 on a permanent deal after moving from Hendon.
The target man has also figured in non-league circles for St Albans, Dagenham and Met Police.
“He’s big, strong and has plenty of experience,” said Burman. “He will certainly hot up the competition for places in attack.”
Brad Potter has followed Richard Avery out of Dartford and joined Chatham Town.
The 21-year-old utility player signed at the weekend with the promise of regular first-team football having been on the fringe of the Dartford first team since emerging from the youth scheme.
Potter was close to joining Chatham on loan last season but manager Tony Burman was reluctant to release any players during the advanced stages of the club’s promotion campaign.
“I’m pleased that both players have joined Chatham and hope they get plenty of games under their belts,” said Burman.
Dartford start pre-season training on Saturday, July 5.
