Dartford will have to end one of the best runs in English football this weekend if they want to reach the FA Cup first round proper.
They’re at home to a Burgess Hill Town side sitting top of Ryman League Division 1 South and having won their last 15 games in all competitions.
The Darts, who play three divisions above the West Sussex club, are still firm favourites to progress, but manager Tony Burman knows they must be wary – especially given that Burgess Hill knocked Vanarama Conference South side Sutton out in the last round.
Burman said: "I can tell you now that we’ll be 100% right for the game.
"I’ve seen Burgess Hill, I’ve watched them play and they’re not bad. They’ve won 19-odd games this season and believe you me, we will not be taking them lightly whatsoever.
"Fair play to them, it breeds a little bit of confidence. But they’ll be playing against better players than they’ve been playing against.
"Everyone wants a home tie and if you can, you get a team in a lower league.
"We’re all experienced enough to know there are banana-skins and they are at the top of their league and they’re buzzing. But we’ll get things right this week and we’ll be a different kettle of fish to what they’ve faced."
Dartford striker Tom Bradbrook is still out with a calf injury.
