Dartford have signed ex-Gillingham goalkeeper Alan Julian.
The 29-year-old, who was released by newly-promoted Newport County at the end of the season, is the third new arrival at Princes Park this week. Chelmsford City duo Kenny Clark and Max Cornhill signed for Tony Burman’s side on Monday.
Julian arrives as a replacement for Louis Wells, who the Darts let go following an injury-hit campaign. Fulham loanee Marcus Bettinelli was their first-choice keeper last season.
Having started his career at Brentford, Julian joined Stevenage Borough in 2005 and he lifted the FA Trophy at Wembley in 2007.
He followed manager Mark Stimson to Priestfield a year later and went on to make 73 appearances in three seasons as a Gills player.
Julian rejoined Stevenage in June 2011 to team up with another of his former managers, Graham Westley. However, he played only three times in League 1 and joined Newport on a free transfer last summer.
Injury restricted him to 11 outings for the Exiles, who sealed their return to the Football League earlier this month after beating Wrexham in the Blue Square Bet Premier play-off final at Wembley.
Burman said: “Alan’s not played many games over the last couple of seasons. He lost his place at Newport but he wants to be No1, he wants to be the best.
“His attitude will rub off on our players. He’s not coming here for the sake of it, he wants to win games.”
