Dartford manager Ady Pennock is loving the amount of chances his in-form team are creating.
The Darts extended their unbeaten Isthmian Premier run to 10 matches with a 3-1 win at Horsham on Tuesday night.
It moved Pennock’s men up to fourth place in the table as they approach the busy festive period.
They’ve scored at least twice in their last eight games. While Olly Box has scored six goals in his last seven matches, his team-mates have chipped in across the squad.
“I’m enjoying us creating chances,” said Pennock. “Even on Saturday against Dulwich we opened them up and created chances, we should have won that game.
“The amount of chances we create now is great to see and everyone is working hard for each other.
“Olly Box is in a great run of scoring form, Callum Jones works his socks off and scored at the weekend, the goals are coming from different areas with centre-halves and midfielders also scoring now.
“There’s been games where we’ve drawn or lost at the start of the season and I wasn’t worried, really, because we were creating so many chances.
“It takes a while for it to come together but we’re in a good place at the moment and we’ve just got to keep working hard.”
On the back of the 2-2 home draw with Dulwich, Dartford had to come from behind to win at Horsham.
Pennock highlighted an excellent save from keeper Jacob Marsden on the stroke of half-time that kept the visitors on level terms.
“It was a very good performance at Horsham, we fully deserved the three points,” said Pennock.
“It was a real squad performance for me. We went a goal down in the first half and it was so important that within a minute we equalised through Samir Carruthers.
“Jacob made a really good save just before half-time, a crucial stop, and then the second half we really dominated. They’re a very good side and will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.
“It’s 10 unbeaten now in the league and there’s a bit of confidence going through the club and a lot of togetherness there.
“I said before it’s a brand-new squad, not just a new team, and it was going to take time to gel, but we’re just gelling at the right time.”
Dartford will look to continue their unbeaten run at Folkestone this Saturday.
They’re managed by Andy Drury, who went on to play for Stevenage, Luton and Ipswich after starting out at Sittingbourne. Pennock coached Drury when they were together at Gravesend & Northfleet.
“We’re going to enjoy the win, get back into training on (yesterday) Thursday and then we’ve got another difficult game at Folkestone on Saturday,” said Pennock.
“No one will expect us to go down there and win, they’re a very good side.
“I know Andy very well as I coached him at Gravesend & Northfleet a long time ago. Any game is difficult in this division but we’ll be on the front foot and look to get three points.
“We need to keep working hard for each other and see where it takes us.”
