Dartford need a win on Saturday to get back on track with manager Tony Burman’s points target for August.
Burman hoped the Darts would take eight points from their first four fixtures but they go into Saturday’s home game against Gosport sitting seventh in Vanarama National League South with seven.
They came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Concord Rangers on Tuesday night and that followed a dramatic 2-2 draw with Sutton last weekend after Dartford had led twice.
Burman said: "We spoke to the players regarding where we felt we should be before Tuesday night’s game. We felt we needed six points and hadn’t got it, so it was important to get three points at Concord.
"We’ve got some sort of target from the games we’ve played. We’d have liked eight points from four games but we’ve got seven, so that makes Saturday an important game."
Gosport arrive at Princes Park unbeaten but one point below the Darts with a win and three draws.
Burman was delighted with the result at Concord but admitted there was room for improvement regarding the performance.
He said: "We got punished for the decisions we made but the attitude was OK, especially at a difficult place like Concord.
"We know there are going to be slip-ups along the way this season so it’s about how we react. We reacted well on Tuesday and managed to get the win, which is a good sign.
"Coming from behind like that is going to help them get closer together.
"A couple of players made mistakes, got punished and their colleagues got them out of jail a little bit.
"I didn’t know whether they had that never-say-die attitude but that performance shows it’s in the locker."
