Dartford boss Steve King will dip into the transfer market again this week – even if it means he gets more stick.

The Darts beat National League South leaders Dorking Wanderers on Saturday but victory came at a cost with both Luke Allen (groin) and Marcus Dinanga (hamstring) coming off injured.

It’s too early to say how long they’ll be out for but King knows he needs to act now.

“We need more players,” stated King. “Luke Allen’s got an injury so what am I meant to do? People will say I’m signing more players but I don’t have enough with the injuries.

“No-one realises I’m running off 17 or 18 players at the moment. We’re very light in numbers.”

King had to draft in 20-year-old Leyton Orient left-back Jayden Sweeney on loan after Junior Tiensa was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Tiensa, only three games into a loan spell from Millwall, tore his hamstring against Brentford B in a London Senior Cup tie last Tuesday.

Tiensa was banned against Dorking after he was red carded in Dartford’s 2-1 loss at Hungerford. He had previously spent time on loan with National League strugglers Dover this season.

On Sweeney, King noted: “He’s got a good capability.

“He’s played in Leyton Orient’s first-team so he’s got something about him and had a loan spell at Wealdstone where he’s scored a couple of goals from left-back. He fits into how we play and he did remarkably well.

“Junior has ripped his hamstring and is out for the season.”
