Winger Jack Simmons has promised to excite Dartford fans this season following his move to Princes Park from Canvey Island.
The 20-year-old was named Canvey supporters’ player-of-the-year last season and he fills the gap in the Darts squad left by Margate-bound Nathan Green.
Simmons is confident he can make the step up from Ryman League football and, with Ryan Hayes likely to line up on the opposite flank, Dartford’s wide men could give opposing full-backs a few headaches.
Simmons said: "I’m quite direct. I like running with the ball and taking people on.
"That’s what my game’s about and I’ll excite the fans because I’ll get it and run with it.
"Dartford’s a good club. I already knew quite a lot about them and went down and saw the stadium and the facilities.
"I’m excited to play under Tony Burman. He spoke about his plans for the club moving forward and where I could fit into that. It was exciting sitting down and going through it all.
“My aim is to have a good pre-season and then to help the team as much as I can.
"I’d like to play as much as possible but that’s down to me, to prove to the manager I’m good enough."
