Paul Lorraine has signed for Dartford.
The former Ebbsfleet captain, who left Whitehawk earlier this month, trained with the Darts last Thursday and again on Monday and manager Tony Burman moved to bring him in ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline.
Lorraine could face his old club at Stonebridge Road on Easter Monday.
Burman said: "Paul has been training with us recently and having someone with his experience will help the squad for the remaining games of the season.
"I’m pleased to have him on board."
Lorraine left Ebbsfleet to join the Darts in June 2014 but never played for them.
Dartford's reprieve from relegation kept them in Conference Premier and playing in that division wasn't compatible with Lorraine's work and family commitments.
He instead joined Whitehawk but suffered a serious knee injury early in the 2014-15 campaign and only returned to the pitch earlier this season.
Lorraine's arrival is timely given that Dartford are missing their most experienced centre-half. Callum McNaughton has fractured a metatarsal and is unlikely to be fit before the end of April.
