Dartford boss Tony Burman thanked the supporters for playing their part in Saturday's comeback.

Goals from Danny Harris and Ryan Hayes saw the Darts recover from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Hemel Hempstead in Vanarama National League South.

That ended a four-match losing streak and Burman felt the atmosphere inside Princes Park lift.

He said: "I’m pleased because I felt the supporters got behind the guys. I know there’s been a lot of criticism but for that 90 minutes, that’s what we’ve got to do.

"There’s nothing better than having a noisy crowd here.

"I know they can say 'the performances haven’t been this, that and the other' but we’re a work in progress. Fortunately enough, I felt they got behind them and it gave everybody a lift."

Dartford conceded in the 17th and 41st minutes and trailed 2-0 at the interval.

But Burman said: "We didn’t do that much wrong in the first half in all fairness.

"We’ve played against a very good side, who pass the ball around but I think we had the first three clear-cut chances, one coming off the post.

"It didn’t go in for us but we had to get on with things. We mustn’t sulk or seem like we’re sulking - but then, all of a sudden, you find yourself 2-0 down.

"There was a little bit of inexperience for us in the second goal, for sure.

"It’s daunting when you’re 2-0 down at half-time. We had a chat with them and we said that we’d given ourselves a mountain to climb - but mountains do get climbed.

"Full credit to the players for coming back into it. I know (Hemel) have gone down to 10 men but sometimes that’s more difficult. We’ve been here many a time saying it’s more difficult.

"I think we earned the right to get back in the game with the second-half performance."

The point keeps Dartford 14th in the table ahead of Saturday's trip to Bishop's Stortford.

Before that, Burman's side host Welling in the Kent Senior Cup on Monday night.
