Dartford came from two goals down to draw at Braintree on Tuesday night.
Goals from Karl Oliyide and Billy Crook had Iron in charge at half-time but Darts, who were held 0-0 at home by Hungerford in their opener on Saturday, turned it round.
Tom Murphy got them back in the game and Elliot Bradbrook netted the equaliser.
Dartford boss Tony Burman said of the opening goal: "We lost possession of the ball too far up the field with too many people out of the game. Richard Sho-Silva tried to win the ball, lost it and they’ve punished us.
"All right, you’re 1-0 down but for the next 15 minutes we just seemed to lose all organisation.
"We lost the ball again going forward, they broke on us, the fella’s hit a cross or shot and Elliot’s adjudged to have handballed it and they’ve got a penalty.
"It was difficult to take because we’d started the game so well.
"At half-time I told the players they had a mountain to climb because of a lack of concentration and giving the ball away.
"We were good enough in the first 30 minutes, created quite a few chances and should have scored. It wasn’t to be but second half they went for the game and it shows we can be a good side.
"They were excellent getting back into the game and we could have won it at the end."
Murphy's goal came in the 67th minute.
"We had chances before that and should have scored," Burman said. "Tom’s got on the end of a knockback from Lee Noble, he’s in the six-yard box and he’s hit it and the fella’s made a lunge at him and he’s had to come off injured.
"That was another blow to us when it was 2-1 but we got back in again and from a corner Tom Bonner’s headed it back and Elliot’s put it in.
"Their goalkeeper’s pulled off a great save from Elliot and from the rebound, I thought Alex Brown was going to put it in but it wasn’t to be.
"I’m delighted we got something out of the game. Other than a crazy 15 minutes, I was more than happy with the performance."
