Dartford are hoping to agree a deal for striker Norman Wabo.
The 21-year-old, released by League 1 Southend at the end of last season, has done well in the Darts’ last few pre-season friendlies.
Wabo finished 2017/18 on loan at Ebbsfleet, helping them reach the National League play-offs, and he also had a brief spell at Maidstone last season.
Dartford joint-boss Adam Flanagan said: “Norman’s done really well. We like Norman.
“He worked really hard on the left of a three in the second half on Tuesday and he looks really promising down the middle as well.
“His best attributes are playing off a big man like Charlie Sheringham or Alex Flisher.
“He’s another youngster who’s been released by a Football League club and he seems hungry and eager to do well.
“He’s at Gills at the moment, trialling there for this week, but I think he’s really enjoyed his time (at Dartford) and the guys really like him. It’s something we’ll have to monitor.”
Injuries meant Sheringham and Flisher both missed Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Bromley, with Darren McQueen leading the line on his own in their absence.
Flanagan said: “We hope Charlie will be back maybe to feature on Saturday, if not in contention for some kind of activity in the first game of the season.
“Flisher’s dislocated his arm and they’ve said nothing for four weeks so there’s still three weeks to go on that but it looks like he’s got good movement and he be can active.”
