Former Colchester United winger Jack Simmons has signed for Dartford.

Simmons, 20, who can also play in midfield, played for Ryman League Premier Division side Canvey Island last season, scoring five goals in 32 appearances.

And the former Welsh under-19 representative won’t have long to face his former side with Darts making the trip to Essex to play the Gulls on July 11 (3pm).

Darts boss Tony Burman said: “I met Jack a couple of times over the past few weeks and again been very impressed with his attitude and desire to improve as a player.

“He is an exciting left-footed midfield player who can also operate down both wings and I feel he will be another good addition to the squad.”
