Kent youngster Chris Solly's dreams of breaking into Charlton's first team this season have been hit by a knee injury.

The 17-year-old from Bligh Way, Strood, had been widely tipped to make his league debut following outstanding performances for the Addicks Academy side last season.

But manager Alan Pardew confirmed: "Chris has suffered a setback with the injury but hopefully he will be back in contention by the end of August or the start of September."
