Sprint sensation Adam Gemili dipped under the 10-second barrier for the 100m for the first time on Sunday - though the achievement will not appear in record books due to the windy conditions at Bedford.
Just a week after beginning his season with a time of 10.19secs in Hengelo, the Netherlands, the 21-year-old Dartford ace was in action at the Bedford International Games.
The European 200m Champion - who also claimed silver in the 100m at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games - won his opening round at Bedford in 10.13secs early in the day - four hundredths of a second outside his own games record.
In the final race of the meeting he then stormed to a time of 9.97secs - a new Personal Best by seven hundredths - only for the wind reading of +3.7m/s to come in over the legal limit and rob him of a place in history as the sixth British sprinter to break 10-seconds.
Hythe star Jack Green, 23, also enjoyed success at Bedford as he stormed to victory by more than two seconds in the 400m Hurdles.
Green, like Gemili a London 2012 semi-finalist, made the best of testing conditions in the cold and wind with a time of 50.39secs - though nearly a second slower than the time he posted in the warmer climes of the Doha Diamond League two weeks before.
On Saturday Invicta East Kent AC star Bobby Clay completed an incredible month with her second PB after her return from a leg injury over the winter.
Wingham star Clay, who only turned 18 this month, smashed her 1,500m best by more than three seconds.
She ran 4.12.20 to win the A race at the Mritish Milers CLub Grand Prix at Sports City in Manchester, just 13 days after dipping under 4.16 for the first and only previous time at the Loughborough International Games.
The time was nearly eight seconds faster than the one she clocked on her comeback at Watford on May 6.
