Dartford striker George Sykes joins Canvey Island on loan for a month

Dartford summer signing George Sykes has rejoined Ryman League Canvey Island on a one-month loan.

Sykes arrived at Princes Park after leaving Barnet but has found opportunities limited.

Darts manager Tony Burman was approached by Canvey boss Danny Heale after losing striker Martin Tuohy to a hamstring injury.

Burman told the Darts website: "He is very much still part of the plans here at Dartford, however I thought this was an ideal opportunity for George to go out and get some game experience."

Sykes scored eight goals in 19 games for Canvey while on loan from Barnet last season.

He'll be available for their game at Bognor Regis on Saturday.
