Charlton v Derby
Goalkeeper Nicky Weaver is under pressure to keep his place in Charlton's side for tonight's televised home game against Derby County.
Caretaker manager Phil Parkinson is considering handing a full first team debut to understudy Rob Elliot.
Elliot, from Newington near Sittingbourne, made his league debut last season in the 2-1 win at Plymouth after Weaver had been sent off early in the game.
Parkinson declined to comment on a possible goalkeeper change but is known to be unhappy with Weaver's performance in Coventry's 2-1 win at The Valley last week.
"There will be changes against Derby but I'm not prepared to elaborate," said Parkinson.
He added: "Players did not play the roles in the team we asked them to do," said Parkinson.
"There were times when the team played as if they were in the school playground.
"I don't want players in the side playing loose, charging all over the pitch."
Parkinson showed the match video to all the players and admitted it shocked many.
"They couldn't argue with what they saw," he added."
Charlton's board of directors confirmed that Parkinson will remain in charge at least until 2009.
"As there can be no further changes to the playing squad until the transfer window opens on January 1, it is our view to give Phil a run up until the end of the year when there will be a strategic review of the position," said football club chairman Richard Murray.
Parkinson, who is keen to take the job on a permanent basis, has already earmarked the players he wants to bring to the club.
The shoulder injury sustained by on-loan left-back Jay McEveley against Coventry is not as bad as was first thought and he could return to contention in two weeks.
Tonight's match sees the return of former Charlton striker Luke Varney following his move to Derby last month.
