New Welling boss Dean Frost has admitted National League survival this season will be "a big test of character".
Frost was announced as Welling's new manager on Tuesday after they sacked Loui Fazakerley 24 hours earlier.
Frost said: ""The aim is clear, survival. The club, players and most importantly supporters, want to remain in the division and that's a challenge that I'm looking forward to, and one that me and my staff believe we can achieve.
"I do not underestimate the task ahead and how hard it's going to be. It's going to be a big test of character.
"However, there's enough quality in the squad and if we can lift the morale and mood, get the team better organised then I believe the situation will improve and team can start picking up the points that we need."
Frost has named Barry Ashby as assistant manager with Jamie Turner also joining his backroom staff.
They were all part of Welling's set-up under Jamie Day before all four ended up at Ebbsfleet midway through last season.
Their spell at Ebbsfleet ended last April and Frost is now looking ahead with the team he supported as a boy.
"I'm delighted to have been offered the job," he said.
"Welling is a club that I have a long affiliation with having supported the club during the late 1980s, then signing on as a youth trainee some 20 years ago and more recently as first team coach working alongside Jamie Day. So I know the club very well.
"It's a great opportunity for me to now manage the team and I am very much looking forward to the road ahead."
