Welling blew the chance to go second in National League South after a dramatic six-goal clash with lowly Concord on Saturday.
The Wings came from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 with just five minutes remaining, only to concede an equaliser in injury time.
It was a game Welling should have coasted to victory as they dominated for long periods and wasted a number of glorious openings.
Welling fielded their fourth keeper of the season with former Cheltenham man Calum Kitscha between the sticks.
The Wings could have been ahead inside 18 seconds as Jeffery Monakana broke down the right-wing and crossed for Christian Nanetti, but his low effort was blocked.
It set the tone for a lively opening 20 minutes dominated by Welling, even though they came out of it a goal behind.
Welling should have been out of sight by the time Concord took a ninth-minute lead. Nanetti was denied by the legs of keeper Louis Wells, who then did well to divert Jack Jebb's effort wide for a corner.
Concord scored against the run of play when Jordan Brown advanced down the left-wing, beating Connor Dymond for pace, and squaring the ball perfectly for Amos Nasha to fire home.
Joe Healy then twice went close in as many minutes. He headed wide from Jebb's near-post corner and then hooked over Bradley Goldberg's centre.
Healy somehow headed over just before the half-hour from close range as Welling continued to dominate possession, before the same player was denied by Wells, who by this stage had already spent most of his afternoon time-wasting.
Welling started the second half in similar fashion. Nanetti's low drive was beaten away before Goldberg hooked over at the near post, then Jebb curled a free-kick inches over.
Concord snatched a second on the counter after 60 minutes. Ben Greenhalgh and Steve Crawley combined to set up Kyron Farrell for a simple tap-in.
Healy finally got on the scoresheet five minutes later with a low 25-yard drive beyond Wells.
He nearly repeated the dose when a corner was half-cleared moments later but the ball went just wide.
The equaliser came with 12 minutes remaining when impressive left-back Archie Johnson marched down the wing and his perfect cross was turned in at close range by Eli Phipps.
Substitute Phipps was then celebrating what appeared to be an 85th minute when his cross-shot was deflected past Wells.
But Welling failed to see time out, keeper Kitscha putting his defence under pressure with a poor clearance. Then Jack Parkinson was unable to clear a deep cross and Khale Da Costa turned it home.
There was still time for Welling to nearly snatch a winner as a corner was kept alive in the box and substitute Tom Bradbrook somehow prodded wide from two yards out.
