Welling keeper Jamie Turner had a pre-season run-out on Tuesday night - against his own team.

Turner featured for Ashford Town after their keeper, Josh Willis, was injured.

The Wings keeper played 45 minutes and was beaten by Welling winger Ellis Green, who scored the only goal of the game.

Turner said: "I was really disappointed when the manager told me that I wouldn't be playing but then Steve Lovell asked if I could go in goal for Ashford.

"Ellis scored from close-range after an effort hit the bar but he is probably telling everyone he beat me from 25 yards!"

Welling round off their pre-season campaign on Saturday when they entertain Dover at Park View Road.
