Welling 3 Fisher 0
Welling maintained their promising start to the season with a comfortable home win over Fisher.
A bumper crowd of 805 saw the Wings turn on the style after a slow start which was more notable for the attempts of referee Ian Gosling to take centre stage.
Welling let the football do the talking after 22 minutes when Lee Blackburn and Charlie Sheringham combined to set up Ryan Martin, who curled home from 20 yards for his fifth goal of the season.
Former Wings defender Michael Kamara was booked for a 32nd-minute dive in an attempt to win a penalty for Fisher but the game swung heavily in Welling's favour when the hosts were awarded a spot-kick at the other end.
Ellis Green went down under the challenge of Sanchez Ming and Sheringham stepped up to convert the spot-kick eight minutes before half-time.
Welling full-back Craig Braham-Barrett surged down the left just before half-time but, having beaten three players, saw his low drive hit the upright.
Sheringham added his second goal of the game 10 minutes into the second half, volleying home from Blackburn's precise cross.
It could have been worse for the visitors as Welling substitute Seb Schoburgh was denied in stoppage time while the Wings had two further penalty appeals turned down.
Another positive for Wings boss Andy Ford was the performance of midfielder Blackburn and defender Frankie Chappell, who both impressed with excellent displays on their first starts for the club.
