Tom Wynter believes Dartford’s summer recruitment will make them a tougher nut to crack in 2016-17.
Darts had the fifth-best defensive record in National League South last season and they look even stronger defensively this time.
Tom Bonner has rejoined the club from Ebbsfleet while Dartford have also secured former loanee Keaton Wood on a permanent deal following his release by Millwall.
Wynter said: "They’re good players, strong and organisers.
"As a back four, it will make us more organised and tighter so I think we’ll be harder to score against.
"We did concede some sloppy goals at times last season and I don’t think that will happen with those characters in there."
Former Gillingham youngster Wynter joined Dartford last September having found his opportunities limited at Dover.
He said: "Me and Chris (Kinnear) had a chat, he said I could go and I haven’t looked back.
"I’m happy here. It’s a good club, a good bunch of players and good staff. Playing week in, week out, it’s good to be out there again.
"We’ve kept the core of the team from last year. We know what it takes, we’ve got a few experienced players in there who are used to winning things so I think we’ll go one step further this year and at least get into the play-offs."
