Dartford scored two late goals on Tuesday night to see off local rivals Welling and reach the second round of the Kent Senior Cup.

Mohamed Eisa gave a young Darts side the lead midway through the first half before Loick Pires levelled for Welling on 64 minutes.

But goals from Alex Woodyard and substitute Brima Daramy put the tie beyond Welling, for whom Loui Fazakerley's stoppage-time strike was merely a consolation.

Both sides made nine changes from their respective Skrill Premier fixtures at the weekend.

One of the two Wings players to retain his place, Joe Healy, fizzed a dangerous early ball across goal but just too far in front of the onrushing Kiernan Hughes-Mason.

Healy and player-manager Jamie Day were setting the agenda with their passing in midfield and Day whipped a free-kick just over the crossbar from 25 yards.

Dartford, however, took the lead from their first attack of real purpose. Eisa turned smartly and hit a powerful shot which deflected past Joel Hanington in the Welling goal.

The home side almost hit back immediately but Tyrone Sterling cleared off the line when Hughes-Mason got himself on the end of a deep Barney Williams cross.

Dartford's youngsters seemed to draw confidence from going in front. Uche Ibemere started to find his feet in attack and from his left-wing cross, Ryan Hayes headed narrowly over.

At the other end, Hughes-Mason forced a good low save from Darts keeper Deren Ibrahim. The ball ran loose and Healy drove it across goal but there was no red shirt on hand to apply the finishing touch.

Pires headed a delicious Malik Ouani cross over the bar at the start of the second half as Welling looked to get back on terms. Having already drilled one shot wide, Pires cut in from the right again and this time found the bottom corner with a fierce drive to make it 1-1.

There was almost a moment of embarrassment for Hanington when he allowed Ibemere's long-range drive to elude his grasp and run between his legs. Fortunately for the goalkeeper, the ball ran just wide of the post.

Chances kept coming. Malachi Hudson's cross caught out Ibrahim as it skidded beyond the upright and out for a goal kick, while Daramy's first contribution saw him almost toe the ball beyond Hanington.

Ibemere showed great strength to hold off his man in midfield and then send Femi Akinwande racing clear. His low shot was well saved by Hanington.

On a night when young players dominated, 33-year-old Day showed a touch of class when his curling effort from 30 yards smacked the crossbar with Ibrahim well beaten.

But with the tie heading towards extra-time, Dartford got their noses back in front. Ibemere was clattered wide on the left and Woodyard's curling free-kick eluded defenders and attackers alike to nestle in the far corner.

Just three minutes later, Hanington had a rush of blood which handed Dartford their third goal. A simple pass down the wing brought Hanington haring out of his penalty area and Daramy coolly rounded him before rolling the ball into the unguarded net.

Fazakerley netted from close range in the fourth minute of added time but the night belonged to Dartford's young talents.

They go through to face Folkestone Invicta or Charlton Athletic in round two.
