At last, after all the hard work, the weeks of anxious waiting have ended for hundreds of sixth form A level students across Deal and Dover.
And most had something to celebrate. Several schools enjoyed record pass rates.
Dover Grammar School for Girls again achieved the highest Kent average point score per student at 1065.8 points.
Seventy-three per cent of the Upper Sixth students gained five or more A level passes.
Each student achieved at least three A levels, with 54 per cent at A or B grade.
In the Lower Sixth, a record number of eight students recorded a "clean sweep" of A grades at AS or A level.
Headteacher Judith Carlisle said: "Seeing the joy on the faces of these accomplished young women makes all the effort worthwhile."
Sir Roger Manwood's set a new record with a 98.2 per cent pass rate and with 63 per cent of all exams passed at the top grades of A and B.
Head Christopher Morgan said: "There were again many outstanding individual results with 20 students achieving more than three grade A passes and 10 of these students gaining at least four grade A passes."
Students at Sandwich Technology School’s Sixth Form broke new boundaries with an overall pass rate rising to 96 per cent - and with 46 per cent of all grades at either A or B.
Andrew Whatley, the Director of Post 16 Education, said: "The results are phenomenal. I am not only pleased with the actual results but more importantly the affect that they will have on the career opportunities of our students."
Across Kent more than 7,000 students received results.
In parallel with the national picture, more students achieved passes and the overall two or more A to E grades increased by a further one per cent on the previous year to 93%, the highest performance since 2002.
