Voters in Dover District are being urged to make sure they have registered to vote in time for the European Parliamentary Elections.
The elections will take place on Thursday, May 22, but registration to vote will close on Tuesday, May 6.
Electoral registration officer Nadeem Aziz said: “People are talking about the elections, but you’ll only be able to have your say on who represents you in the European Parliament if you’re registered to vote by the deadline.
“Registering is quick and simple. All you have to do is visit www.aboutmyvote.co.uk and print off a registration form.
“Completed forms should be returned to the Electoral Services Office, Dover District Council, White Cliffs Business Park, Whitfield, Dover, CT16 3PJ.
“Even if you think you’re already registered, it’s really important to double check. Many people think they are automatically registered because they pay council tax, but this isn’t true.
“If you live within the Dover District Council area you can do this by calling the helpline on 01304 872344 or emailing elections@dover.gov.uk .”
