Aldi may be opening a store in Deal.

The food store chain is due to make a comment about a Deal store to the Mercury, but was unable to do so before we went to press on Wednesday.

It has been suggested the proposed site is on land where Park Avenue Motors stands. And there may be an access road taking traffic to the Minters Yard Industrial Estate, alleviating traffic pressure on Southwall Road.

Park Avenue Motors is expected to close in the next few months.

Nobody from the car sales business has so far been able to comment on the future of the site.
