Teenager, Ben Pilott helped a 40-year-old man

A man was found collapsed in an alley in Dover with blood gushing from his head.

Teenager Ben Pilott came to his rescue and called an ambulance.

The 17-year-old was walking towards the bus station in Pencester on Sunday at about 6.30pm and decided to take a shortcut down the side of the town council offices in Biggin Street.

He found the man, said to be in his 40s, lying on the ground.

Ben called for an ambulance and asked a passer-by to call in at the police station for
additional help.

Mr Pilott said: “I hope the man was OK. He was moving so hopefully he has made a good
recovery.

“I did the best I could but it was quite scary seeing this man in distress and knowing there was nothing I could do.

“The ambulance service arrived in 12 minutes but it just felt like a very long time.”

The good samaritan said that he saw a cut on the man’s head but the bleeding was not
excessive.
