Tickets to a collaborative performance with P&O’s workplace choir and the White Cliff Symphonic Wind Band have sold out, the Mercury can reveal.

The musical show, set to take place at Dover Town Hall in Biggin Street, this Sunday, has been huge in popularity.

P&O’s workplace choir will be performing to the public for the first time since their big win back in December.

The harmonious bunch have been dubbed the best workplace choir in the country by winning BBC 2’s eight part series, The Choir, hosted by Gareth Malone.

Rehearsals have since been implemented into the choir’s working life, as seen via Twitter where the singers have been regularly posting updates.

Yesterday the choir uploaded an image of their song sheets, marking their last rehearsal prior to Sunday’s event.

Their latest tweet said: “Final rehearsal tonight for our first official performance this Sunday!”

Conductor, Hilary Campbell, said: “A pleasure working with @POFerriesChoir as ever. New repertoire really starting to take shape. Looking forward to next Sunday!”

Hosting the event is the WCSW band, who have been around for nine years and have raised nearly £30,000 for local and international charities by hosting community performances.

The band consists of a variety of musicians, both young and old with different levels of experience.

Tickets were priced at £8 and all proceeds are going to Dover charity, Home Start, who endeavour to help young families in their homes.

Those who are still eager to try and get a ticket will need to get themselves onto a waiting list for cancelled tickets and can do so by contacting Jan Goldsack on: 07788723370.
